Paul McCarthy, Locum Optometrist

I graduated with a Bachelor of Optometry degree from UNSW in 1982 and owned and operated a very busy and successful independent optometry practice in Drummoyne, Sydney for over 30 years. Additionally, I hold a Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics from UNSW. I can confidently say I have just about seen it all when it comes to the scope and nature of patient presentations. My skills cover the wide variety of general optometric practice and include children’s vision and sports vision. I’m a great communicator and I quickly build rapport and trust with patients of all ages and from all walks of life, city and country. I understand the challenges of practice ownership and the importance of nurturing patient relationships – that’s why I am committed to independent optometry and to supporting independent optometrists in their practices around Australia.

As your locum optometrist, I’ll bring all of this and more to your practice while you enjoy time away for leisure, family commitments, conferences or just some much needed ‘time out’.
